The ‘Evolution’ of Podium Envision
https://podium.io/
The most recent edition of the Podium Envision platform. Overtime we learned that the software needed to be flexible rather than rigid for the user. The linear approach was thought to be restrictive even though Development Managers traditionally do things in a linear approach. Through this realisation and learning via testing, we quantified that the need for a top level horizontal navigation, sub navigation and left and right panels were open for better work solution for the Development Manager. Being able to switch to different areas of the users journey at any time rather than do a ‘wizard’ work stream proved the best way forward and has been a real winner for the broader organisation and it’s users.
Workspaces
The Development Manager is able to create any number of projects in any location which are all housed in a Workspace area. Within each project, you can have any number of different scenarios of that project which you can measure against one or the other.
Layers & Site Drawing Tool
The Development Manager is able to import pre determined data layers for a masterplan project and toggle them on and off. There can be a number of different layers on a one time include site drawing layers. The user is also able to create new projects upon drawing a site.
Massing Editor
The Development Manager is able to draw a massing (building) on the pre draw site area. They are able to draw a Podium with carpark and a Tower which may include mix residential and/or commercial areas within the massing area defined.
Apartment Catalogue
The Apartment Catalogue is a filter list table where the Development Manager is able to edit the internal layout of each apartment space. It also give the user a compliant score to advise how effective the unit type is for the area. Details such as size of the apartments, bathrooms, bedrooms, apartment mix types and naming new Catalogues to reuse again across other projects as well as reorder filters columns.
