The ‘Revolutionary Idea’

From what was initially a far fetched blue sky idea from the Head of Technology and Head Architect at LendLease, lead to the actual realisation and backing that would finally make the construction industry automated. They were set out with the massive task to form a small team of Engineers to look into if this would actually be feasible to go further. Alas the further they investigated the more there was a real need for automation design and it was possible to execute. Companies like Toyota have done it, so why can’t LendLease?
Below are various first round Hi-fi screen for a viable product tailored specifically to the needs of a real life project from Google Development Ventures in San Francisco. Slight iterations over time through rigorous user testing weekly to a core group of Development Managers who were part of this project allowed the Product Design team to get answers on how they go about doing their specific tasks. From there we mapped out the user maps and journey to better understand the end to end life cycle of a Development Managers core needs.
